On September 12, 2011, the mobile injection room Fixelancen drove out into the streets of Vesterbro for the first time, providing clean needles, needle disposals, and medical staff for the drug users in Copenhagen. With support from the Nordea Foundation, we produced the film Fixelancen, Volunteering for Welfare. The film celebrates the people volunteering in the project, and is a case example of how the civil society can create relevant welfare initiated by the needs and possibilities of the local community.
