Mohammed Khatib is a corpulent, charismatic and uncompromising man. Having lived and worked as a doctor in the Shatila camp in Beirut for many years, he has now dedicated his life to collecting historic artefacts, documenting the Palestinian cultural heritage. In a dark and moist room at the end of a narrow ally, Khahib has established a small museum, exhibiting the items he has been collecting since the 00’s – in the camp, in Beirut, and in the rest of Lebanon. In the museum Khaleb greats visitors and tells the stories of the artefacts.
The film follows Khaleb’s efforts gathering items for his museum and his outreach work in the camp, trying to involve the new generations in his fight for preserving the Palestinian cultural heritage.
