With support from the Carlsberg Foundation and in collaboration with the University of Copenhagen, DTU, Videnskab.dk, and TV2 Kosmopol, over the next two years, we will develop and produce a communication project about quantum science aimed at the general Danish population.
In September 2023, Denmark's first master's program in Quantum Information Science was launched. The program's interdisciplinary structure combines computer science, physics, and mathematics to meet the future demand for experts during the second quantum revolution.
The students are to be our "guides" on the journey into the brave new quantum world. This will be a journey of discovery for us as citizens and viewers, where along the way, we will gain a better understanding of what quantum science really is...
The goal is to initiate a broad and open debate on how we, as ordinary citizens, should approach the possibilities that new technologies present in an era marked by groundbreaking technological quantum leaps.
The project consists of a four-episode documentary series, a festival version, eight articles on Videnskab.dk with accompanying films, and four facilitated "citizens meet science live chats" on Videnskab.dk’s platform. The project is expected to launch in 2026.
